"Either write something worth reading or do something worth writing." said Benjamin Franklin.
So what should I write that would be worth reading?? What should I do that is worth writing about?? It's so easy to say too hard to do, Benjamin.
Should I write about the world's crisis, or should I write that "if god closes a door he opens a window" ?
Should I write about despair, or should I write about hope?
Should I write of Peace, which we certainly lack or war "that will put an end to Mankind if Mankind didn't put an end to it"(Kennedy)?
Should I write about myself so that I'd be called "self-centered" or should I write about people, taking the risk that they might accuse me of writing something I don't know nothing about?
Maybe I should write about my experiences so that people would Learn...but did the US learn from Vietnam?? Did Saddam learn from Hitler or Franco?? Did you learn? Did I learn?? History repeats itself and "We learn from experience that men never learn anything from experience."(Shaw)
It's a Dilemma. A crisis in itself. What do people want to hear and what do I want to write...you sometimes can't find a middle way to satisfy both. Should I write what the people want and gain honour that I don't deserve or write what I really think and deserve honour that I won't easily get?
It looks like it is not an easy choice in terms what to write about but I'll write anyway. I don't promise you or myself that It'll be worth reading. Sometimes it will, many times it won't. But I'll write in the hope that maybe one sentence will make you smile or cry or even disgust you, but in the end it made you feel something.
'Coz that's what we lack nowadays...feelings.
